Are you fast enough?

Entries opened today for the 2012 BBM Roller Championships 2012. The innaugral BBM Roller Championships will take place on Thursday April 5th 2012, 7.00pm  at Knottingley High School, West Yorkshire. the format is simple. Each round is 500m with split second timing. 4 riders going mano e mano over 8 heats with the fastest rider from each round progressing to the semi-finals. Two riders from each semi' will qualify to the final. Each finalist will battle it out over 500 metres for the title of 2012 BBM Roller Champion and a cash prize of £300.00!

How does does the timing work?

All races are using the same Kreitler 4.5" roller stations that are connected to Goldsprints timing software.

What Bike do I need?

All competitors will use a road bike with a maximum gear of 53x11 or equivelant. Gear checks will take place on the night before each event.

Do I need to bring rollers?

All competition is on BBM's competition rollers. We also have a Minoura Warm Up zone with Minoura Action Rollers that are available for use by all competitors.

What is selection criteria?

The BBM Committee will select the 32 best riders for the event in advance of the event based on race history.

Can I practice before?

The races will be straight after one another on the evening, although there is an Open Roller League at the same venue every Thursday evening at 7.00pm.

What about spectators?

We are encouraging specttors to attend the event. It will be a great spectacle to watch with food, drink and entertainment.

Where is Knottingley High School?

Knottingley is within easy reach of both the A1 and M62 intersection. Middle Lane,  Knottingley, West Yorkshire WF11 0BZ
